Overview

This database is based on the 1995 May 3 electronic version of the Taylor et al. Pulsar Catalog and contains data on 706 pulsars, i.e., it contains 25% more entries than the version published by Taylor et al. in 1993 ApJS. The HEASARC obtained this electronic version from the Princeton University FTP site.

Name
Name of the pulsar using the standard IAU method, based on J2000 coordinates.

BName
Name of the pulsar using the standard IAU method, based on B1950 coordinates.

RA
The right ascension of the pulsar.

Dec
The declination of the pulsar.

LII
The galactic longitude of the pulsar.

BII
The galactic latitude of the pulsar.

RA_Error
Uncertainty in the RA in arcseconds.

Dec_Error
Uncertainty in the declination in arcseconds.

Min_Distance
Lower limit to the distance (from method other than dispersion) in kpc.

Max_Distance
Upper limit to the distance (from method other than dispersion) in kpc.

Distance
Adopted distance in kpc.

Z
Distance above or below the Galactic plane, z = distance * sin (bii)

Distance_Flag
A flag that describes whether the quoted distance is a measured value (value=0), a lower limit (1), or an upper limit(2).

Lower_Code
An estimate of the reliability of the distance on the lower side, where a means best, b means good, c means fair, and d means poor.

Upper_Code
An estimate of the reliability of the distance on the upper side, where a means best, b means good, c means fair, and d means poor.

Prop_RA
Proper motion in RA in milliarcseconds per year (mas/yr).

Prop_RA_Error
Uncertainty in proper motion in RA (mas/yr).

Prop_Dec
Proper motion in declination in milliarcseconds per year (mas/yr).

Prop_Dec_Error
Uncertainty in proper motion in declination (mas/yr).

Position_Epoch
Epoch of position measurement in MJD.

ID for distance model: 1 = Taylor & Cordes (1993)

Limcode
Set to 1 if the model distance is a lower limit, 0 otherwise.
