RASSWD - ROSAT All-Sky Survey: White Dwarves

HEASARC
Archive

Overview

This database lists all white dwarf stars, both previously-cataloged and newly discovered, which have been detected in the ROSAT All-Sky Survey. The positions and count rates of the X-ray sources associated with each star are given, as well as spectral types and other star names for those stars which have been previously cataloged. The database also lists distances estimated via Balmer line profile fitting, corrected (for IS absorption) X-ray luminosities, and each star's contribution to the X-ray luminosity function for all DA white dwarfs which were detected in the ROSAT All-Sky Survey. This catalog is refered to as the 'RASS Catalog of White Dwarfs' not the 'ROSAT All-Sky Survey Catalog of White Dwarfs' in the XrayBrowse database system.

Parameters

Name
The name of the current source.

RA
The Right Ascension of the object.

Dec
The Declination of the object.

LII
The galactic longitude of the object determined from the equatorial coordinates.

BII
The galactic latitude of the object determined from the equatorial coordinates.

Villanova_Name
Villanova catalogue referenced from Villanova "Catalog of Spectroscopically Identified White Dwarfs".

Phot_Spect_Flag
Note on RX J2034.9-2734, a '+' indicates neither photometry nor good spectrum available.

Count_Rate_Flag
Note on count rate, a '+' indicates detection also made in hard band; should be treated as upper limit.

Count_Rate
PSPC count rate in the 0.1-0.28 keV band.

Count_Rate_Error
1-sigma error in count rate.

WFC_Flag
[YN] Was source detected in EUV by ROSAT WFC?

Spectral_Type
White dwarf spectral type.

Distance_Flag
An '*' indicates distance estimated assuming M_V_ = 9.63.

Distance
Distance estimated to each star in parsecs.

Luminosity
Corrected X-ray luminosity, corrected for IS absorption (0.1 - 0.28 keV) in 10^-7W units.

Density_Con
Each star's contribution to the luminosity function and local space density for all DA WD's detected in ROSAT All Sky Survey in parsec^-3.

Ref
Flag that indicates references.
