Overview

This table contains a list of extragalactic radio sources detected in a 455 square-degree map of the southern sky made at a frequency of 148 GHz from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) 2008 observing season. This catalog has 157 sources with flux densities spanning two orders of magnitude from 15 to 1500 mJy. Comparison to other catalogs shows that 98% of the ACT detections correspond to sources detected at lower radio frequencies. Three of the sources appear to be associated with the brightest cluster galaxies of low redshift X-ray selected galaxy clusters. Estimates of the radio to mm-wave spectral indices and differential counts of the sources further bolster the hypothesis that they are nearly all radio sources, and that their emission is not dominated by re-emission from warm dust. In a bright (>50 mJy) 148 GHz-selected sample with complete cross-identifications from the Australia Telescope 20-GHz survey, the authors of the study observe an average steepening of the spectra between 5, 20, and 148 GHz with median spectral indices of alpha5-20 = -0.07 +/- 0.06, alpha20-148 = -0.39 +/- 0.04, and alpha5-148 = -0.20 +/- 0.03. When the measured spectral indices are taken into account, the 148-GHz differential source counts are consistent with previous measurements at 30 GHz in the context of a source count model dominated by flat spectrum radio sources. Extrapolating with an appropriately rescaled model for the radio source counts, the Poisson contribution to the spatial power spectrum from synchrotron-dominated sources with flux density less than 20 mJy is CSync = (2.8 +/- 0.3) x 10-6 microKelvin2.

Provenance

This table was created by the HEASARC in January 2011 based on an electronic version of Table A1 from the paper (the Point Source Catalog) which was obtained from the LAMBDA website at http://lambda.gsfc.nasa.gov/product/suborbit/act_prod_table.cfm

Parameters

Name
The adopted IAU-style J2000 position-based name for the ACT 148-GHz radio source.

RA
The Right Ascension in the selected equinox of the ACT 148-GHz radio source. In order to be consistent with the printed version of the table, the HEASARC has created this from the source name string (which gives the J2000 RA to a precision of 1 second of time) rather than from the RA given in the electronic version of this table (given in J2000.0 decimal degrees to a precision of 0.001 degrees, or 3.6 arcseconds).

Dec
The Declination in the selected equinox of the ACT 148-GHz radio source. In order to be consistent with the printed version of the table, the HEASARC has created this from the source name string (which gives the J2000 Dec to a precision of 1 arcsecond) rather than from the Dec given in the electronic version of this table (given in J2000.0 decimal degrees to a precision of 0.001 degrees, or 3.6 arcseconds).

LII
The Galactic Longitude of the ACT 148-GHz radio source.

BII
The Galactic Latitude of the ACT 148-GHz radio source.

SNR
The signal-to-noise ratio of the 148-GHz radio source detection.

Meas_Flux_148_GHz
The measured 148-GHz flux density of the radio source, in milliJanskies (mJy).

Flux_148_GHz
The 'deboosted' 148-GHz flux density of the radio source, in milliJanskies (mJy). This correction, which was applied to those sources with measured 148-GHz flux densities less than 50 mJy, is discussed in Section 3.2.2 of the reference paper. For the stronger than 50 mJy sources, this parameter is the same as the measured flux density.

Flux_148_GHz_Pos_Err
The positive (68% confidence limit) error in the deboosted flux density of the radio source, in mJy.

Flux_148_GHz_Neg_Err
The negative (68% confidence limit) error in the deboosted flux density of the radio source, in mJy.

AT20G_Name
The cross-identification of the corresponding counterpart to the ACT 148-GHz radio source, taken from the AT20G 5-, 8- and 20-GHz catalog (Murphy et al. 2010, MNRAS, 402, 2403), if one is present within 30 arcseconds of the ACT position. Of the 157 ACT sources, 109 have matches in the AT20G catalog.
