Get and Check Telemetry and Attitude Files

If you like you can:

Description:

  1. Locate proper telemetry and attitude files for the observation. These files contain the science, housekeeping, and pointing information in a format much like the one used by the spacecraft to send these data to the ground. There are usually only one or two of each type of these files. If the files do not exist or cannot be decompressed, the script aborts.

  2. Check to be sure the telemetry and attitude files conform to the FITS format.

  3. The object name is read (in order of decreasing preference) from the OBJECT keyword of the telemetry or attitude file, from the parameter file, or from a list of problem names. If not originally defined in the telemetry or attitude file, the object name is now defined. If the name is not found anywhere, abort the script.

  4. The telemetry and attitude files are checked to see if they are time ordered.

  5. Check that the telemetry file has the correct sequence number.

  6. If there is more than one telemetry or attitude file, check for time overlaps between adjacent files. If these overlaps exist, remove the duplicated superframes.
