This tar file contains data, software and scripts required to construct a calibrated response matrix for ROSAT HRI observations. The directories contain files as follows

docs -- contains postscript file This file contains a detailed write-up of the methods used to obtain a calibrated matrix, and gives an example. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS A COMPLETE LISTING OF FILES IN THIS DISTRIBUTION.

matrices -- the shifted response matrices (see Also the Ancillary Response File.

xgain -- this directory contains the package xgain. This software reads the aspect and GTI files for a given observation and calculates the gain history. See the README file in this directory for installation instructions.

scripts -- contains IRAF and shell scripts. See for details

misc -- contains miscellaneous data files. See for details.
