ROSAT HRI spectral calibration -- data and software products

To retrieve the 6 Mb gzipped tar file located at ftp://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/rosat/software/hri/hrispec.tar.gz

Please address all questions, queries, comments etc. to prestwich@cfa.harvard.edu

This tar file contains data, software and scripts required to construct a calibrated response matrix for ROSAT HRI observations. The directories contain files as follows

docs -- contains postscript file spec_calib.ps. This file contains a detailed write-up of the methods used to obtain a calibrated matrix, and gives an example. THE APPENDIX CONTAINS A COMPLETE LISTING OF FILES IN THIS DISTRIBUTION.

matrices -- the shifted response matrices (see spec_calib.ps) Also the Ancillary Response File.

xgain -- this directory contains the package xgain. This software reads the aspect and GTI files for a given observation and calculates the gain history. See the README file in this directory for installation instructions.

scripts -- contains IRAF and shell scripts. See spec_calib.ps for details

misc -- contains miscellaneous data files. See spec_calib.ps for details.
