Introduction

Here, we summarize the current calibration status for the instruments on RXTE.

This page is updated as the instrument teams provide updated and revised calibration files and software. Hence we recommend that users consult this page and those referenced herein before and after analyzing RXTE data. In particular, see the series of news items below

ASM

The current calibration status associated with FITs ASM data are described on ASM Light Curves Overview page.

The HEXTE

The current calibration status associated with HEXTE data are described in UCSD's HEXTE data analysis and calibration news.

PCA

For the latest information on background subtraction models, response matrices, and other PCA data analysis issues, consult the PCA Digest

The PCA Team provides up-to-date calibration information on its own instrument team page.

Step-by-step instructions for running PCABACKEST can be found in the PCABACKEST Recipe in the RXTE Cookbook.

For your convenience, we have an ENERGY-CHANNEL Conversion Table covering the four gain epochs and using the latest calibration file.
