1) Revised Versions of QuickSim and ProcSim

Both of the proposal tools QuickSim (for simulating EPIC observations)
and ProcSim (for converting SciSim odf output into photon event files)
have been updated. Minor bugs have been corrected as well as additional
features added. The software can be retrieved from:
ftp://legacy.gsfc.nasa.gov/xmm/software/quicksim
Below is the addition to the README file which documents the changes.

12 March 1999
NOTE: QuickSim and ProcSim output will not work with Xselect V1.4,
          V1.4b is required
NOTE: The 1999 March rmf and arf files should be used with the
current QuickSim and ProcSim programs. Note the README files
in the March99 and Jan99 calibration directories. While the
March99 have the best rmfs available, they are not completely
consistent with the output of SciSim, so some structure in the
residuals of fits should be expected.
Update of software - SimSource V1.0.1
        - modification of input for user supplied spectra
        - correction of prompts
Update of software - QuickSim V1.0.2
        - correction of a bug that used the wrong areas for PN simulations
except for those of the full mode
        - modification of input for user supplied spectra, now also uses
          Xspec output as input
Update of software - ProcSim V1.5.1
        - correction of the event reconstruction code for the PN
        - correctly handles MOS modes except for FastModeUncompressed,
will only process PN and RGS standard modes.
        - correctly handle the orientations of the EMOS1 and EMOS2 CCDs,
i.e., the rotation by 90 degrees of the cameras
        - correction of an oversight in the initialization of certain
variables. This seems to have only affected PN data processed
          on DecOSF machines.
        - correction of a bug and improvement in the PN code which
combines adjacent events. The code now takes all events from a
single frame from a single CCD, works down from the largest energy
event, sums the energies of all events adjacent to the large event,
and then flags them as used. This is not exactly the way that SAS
will do the processing, but should be close enough.
        - eliminated all 2-byte integers due to a flaw in the Sun f90 compiler
        - correction of coordinate merging code to correctly, I think,
account for the gaps between CCDs, RGS, MOS, and PN
        - change of RGS position units to 0.05 arc seconds
        - improved fits header information
