ROSAT Guest Observer Facility

Can I obtain accurate coordinates from the software?

(7/15/91)

There is an apparent coordinate shift between the sources visible in an image, and the output of SASS (particularly, the SIMBAD source list). An early version of SASS did not handle the aspect solution properly. Presumably, the new version does. This will be checked.

UPDATE: (4/30/92)

see the 'Coordinates' section for the PSPC and the HRI FAQ files). The problem appears to have been solved in Note that there still exists a boresight offset that is not understood.
