Robin Corbet received his PhD from
University College
London
(Mullard Space
Science Laboratory)
in 1984 with a thesis entitled "Optical Observations of Binary
X-ray Sources". He subsequently worked at
Oxford
University,
the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science
(ISAS),
in Japan and the
Pennsylvania State
University
before joining the Laboratory for High Energy Astrophysics at Goddard
as the XTE SOF Chief Duty Scientist/Manager employed by
USRA.
He has participated in the
EXOSAT,
Ginga
and
ASCA X-ray missions
and his principal research interests are investigating both high and
low mass X-ray binaries through X-ray and optical observations.
