HEASARC Staff Scientist Position - Applications are now being accepted for a Staff Scientist with significant experience and interest in the technical aspects of astrophysics research, to work in the High Energy Astrophysics Science Archive Research Center (HEASARC) at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD. Refer to the AAS Job register for full details.
- The code explicitely assumes that there is one events extension per
file. Future decisions to pack lots of extensions into a single FITS
file are not yet supported!
- For the obscat to work, the relevant parameters must be stored as
keywords in the primary extensions of the events files.
- The method of storing HK parameters for ASCA has changed, so that
now all the HK data for the whole sequence is stored in one file.
Xselect does not support this format automatically, so to view the HK
data, you must read it in by hand using the read hk command.
