gisclean

Clean GIS data using RTI-PHA window


This task uses the RTI-PHA window contained in the calibration files rti_gis_nnnnn.fits, from the CALDB (or ftools refdata area) to reject background events. You can also enter your own copy of the file with the parameter rti_table_user. The filtered output is placed in the workspace, and will be used in further calls to extract,...

Some ASCA data has the parameter RISEBINS=0. This data has no RISE TIME information, and you cannot run GISCLEAN on it. Xselect will warn you that you have this kind of data.

Also note that MPC mode data has no rise time information. So GISCLEAN is not appropriate for it either.
