HT Cas

HT Cas

Image Credit: Mukai et al 1997, ApJ 475, 812.

The folded ASCA eclipse light curve of the nonmagnetic cataclysmic variable HT Cas. The upper panel shows the data and the best-fit model, the lower panel the residuals. The short transitions to and out of the eclipse indicate that the X-ray emission region is not much larger than the white dwarf primary.
