Spring 2021 Analysis & Science Workshop

The Spring 2021 NICER Analysis Workshop will be held virtually from 9 am to 1 pm EDT (13:00-17:00 UTC) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday of the week of May 10th, 2021. The Monday and Tuesday sessions will focus on tutorials and data analysis; the Thursday and Friday sessions will focus on NICER-related science results.

The primary objective of the workshop is to discuss data analysis techniques and new science results that maximize use of the unique timing and spectroscopy data provided by NICER.

Presentations on Monday and Tuesday will cover data selection, background modeling, timing, and spectroscopy. Speakers in these sessions will include K. Gendreau / Z. Arzoumanian (mission status), Craig Markwardt (calibration & software), and Ron Remillard (background modeling). There will be time for user analysis questions.

Science presentations on Thursday and Friday are invited from members of the community of users.

The workshop will be virtual, and registration is at no cost. Pre-registration is requested so that we can send out the meeting agenda and participation links in advance. Please pre-register using the Spring 2021 Workshop Registration Form.
