[1] ESA staff position as Science Operations Scientist in High-Energy Astronomy

   The European Space Agency is about to publish a vacancy in the
   Directorate of Science in a position assigned jointly to the XMM-Newton
   and INTEGRAL missions. A Ph.D. in Astrophysics is required for this
   post.

   Initially, the selected person will be responsible for high-energy
   Astronomy cross-calibration, scientific data processing and archive
   product generation, working in close collaboration with the staff in
   missions currently in operations and in the ESAC Science Data Centre,
   and coordinating the work of the companies providing services to
   support these tasks.

   Working in this position will mean a significant role in calibration
   and especially cross-calibration of current and upcoming high-energy
   missions, as well as in the shaping the future of data processing and
   archives for these missions, with the possibility of evolving into
   coordination and managerial tasks.

   Applications from all qualified candidates of ESA member states
   irrespective of gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, beliefs, age,
   disability or other characteristics, are welcome.

   The "X-ray Vision of the Energetic Universe", a joint IAU I-HOW and
   COSPAR Capacity Building Workshop in X-ray Astronomy, was held on
   February 6-17, 2023, in North-West University Potchefstroom, South
   Africa.
