Users' Group Meeting #18: Invitation from UG chair to contact them
------------------------------------------------------------------
The XMM Users' Group (UG) will be holding its yearly meeting this coming
May 11th and 12th, at ESAC. As is usual, the UG welcomes all comments
and suggestions on any relevant aspect of the XMM-Newton operations and
future direction. You may send these either directly to me, or if you
prefer to any member of the UG.
I would like to note the forthcoming meeting in Rome, "The X-ray
Universe 2017". This symposium will provide a showcase for results,
discoveries and expectations from current and future X-ray missions.
Finally, regarding the announcement of AO-17 expected later this year, I
draw attention to the opportunity for applications under a new category
of observing proposals, "The Multi-Year Heritage Programmes". The aim of
which is to encourage visionary programmes which would not otherwise be
likely to emerge because of the time constraints within a single
allocation cycle. Details will be given in the AO.

The Scientific Programme for the symposium "The X-ray Universe 2017",
that will be held from Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th June 2017 in Rome,
Italy, is available via the conference web page

We take the opportunity to remind that early registration and
registration with reduced student fee are possible until Thursday 27th
April at
