- XSA v9.3 release with access to the Slew Survey (XMMSL2) and
OM (XMM-SUSS3) catalogues

XMM-SUSS3
XSA v9.3 release with access to the Slew Survey (XMMSL2) and
OM (XMM-SUSS3) catalogues
------------------------------------------------------------
A new version of the XMM-Newton Science Archive (XSA v9.3) is available at
https://www.cosmos.esa.int/web/xmm-newton/xsa
Public ODFs and PPS products can now be individually downloaded without
the need of login into XSA. Besides other improvements, the new
pipeline products for EPIC sources (postcards with extraction regions
and combined light curves) can be visualised, and it is possible to
customise coordinates and distance units in the results panel.
XSA v9.3 provides access to the new versions of the Slew Survey (XMMSL2)
and OM (XMM-SUSS3) catalogues.
- Release of the new version the XMM-Newton Slew Survey Source Catalogue:
XMMSL2
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
An updated version of the catalogue of X-ray sources found in the
EPIC-pn camera during slews between targets, has been released under the
name XMMSL2. This catalogue has been produced from a complete
reprocessing of 2114 slews, made between September 2001 and December
2014, using a point spread function specifically constructed for source
detection in slew observations.
The catalogue contains 29393 sources, an increase of nearly 50% on the
previous edition. About 84% of the sky has been covered, at least once,
in this release.
This catalogue can be accessed and searched with XSA, or downloaded as a
FITS table from the XSA web page.
- Release of the new version of the XMM-Newton OM Catalogue:
XMM-SUSS3
-----------------------------------------------------------
The third version of the XMM-Newton OM Serendipitous Ultraviolet Source
Survey Catalogue (XMM-SUSS3) has been released.
This version includes all OM science observations obtained until July
2015 (7886). All data have been reprocessed using the XMM-Newton
Science Analysis Software (SAS) system version 15.0. A new
time-dependent sensitivity degradation correction has been applied to
all data.
The total number of entries is 6.88 million. They correspond to 4.75
million sources, of which 23% have multiple entries coming from
different observations.
The XMM-SUSS3 catalogue can be accessed through the XSA search
interface. Both the complete catalogue and a reduced version can be
downloaded from the XSA web page.
Yours sincerely,
XMM-Newton SOC
