thumnail of burst The first X-ray burst event was detected from the globular cluster NGC 6624. X-ray bursts are due to the explosive thermonuclear burning of gas on the surface of neutron stars. The discovery event was found with the ANS satellite. The evolving spectrum of these burst indicates that they come from an object about the size of a neutron star.
