RELOCATION OF OBSERVATORY TEAM AT ESTEC

In the post operations phase the EXOSAT Observatory team will be relocated at ESTEC, Noordwijk, Holland within the Astrophysics Division of the Space Science Dept. The move of personnel and computers will take place in two parts, on November 1st this year and on February 1st next year. In this way we hope to maintain continuity in providing support to the community.

The interactive facility will be available at ESOC up to Christmas, and at ESTEC from the New Year onwards. No support will be provided between December 24th and January 1st (inclusive). In the November-January transition period only one user can be supported in any given interval. After November Ist archive requests should be sent to ESTEC (see p.18).

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those staff who will be leaving the team at the end of the year: Anne Fahey for efficiently scheduling the timeline of observations, Mark Sweeney and Carlo Izzo for their support as operations controllers and for restraining hyper-active observers, Margit Farkas for keeping the FOTs flowing and the auto running smoothly, Julian Sternberg for his computer expertise, the FOT Handbook and all those CS routines, and last but not least Sandy Andrews, an irreplaceable secretary, whose duties have included typing so well all 17 Expresses.
