    • Instrument Overview: Peterson 1975, Ann. Rev. of A & A, 13, 423.
    • A2(CXE) Design: Rothschild et al 1979, Sp Sc Instr, 4, 269.
    • A3(MC) Preliminary X-ray source locations: Gursky et al 1978, ApJ, 223, 973.
    • A4 Design and early results: Matteson 1978, AIAA 16th Aerospace Sciences Meeting proceedings, 78.

  • Science Highlights:
    • X-ray Source Catalog, Instrument, A1(LASS): Wood et al 1984, ApJS, 56, 507. The LASS experiment produced a catalog containing 842 sources from a systematic sky survey sensitive down to 0.001 Crab.
    • Cyg X-1, A1(LASS): Meekins et al. 1984, ApJ, 278, 288.
    • X-ray background 3-50 keV, A2(CXE): Marshall et al. 1980, ApJ, 235, 4.
    • High Latitude Survey, A2(CXE): Piccinotti et al. 1982, ApJ, 253, 485. The 2-10 keV survey detected 85 sources.
    • Galactic and Background Spectra, A2(CXE), A4: Rothschild et al. 1983, ApJ, 269, 423.
    • SS Cygni, U Gem, A2(CXE): Cordova et al. 1984, ApJ, 278, 739.
    • SS Cygni, A2(CXE): Cordova et al. 1980, ApJ, 235, 163.
    • HEAO-1 A3 MC LASS Catalog : The MC experiment data led to the identification of several hundred optical companions and source classifications. This work produced a 600+ source catalog of LASS/MC sources. The identifications included many previously unknown active coronal type stars, CVs, AGN, and clusters of galaxies. This catalog is available through W3Browse as the HEAO-1 A3 MC LASS Catalog.
    • Sky Survey, A4: Levine et al. 1984, ApJS, 54, 581. Complete survey down to ~1/75 Crab in the 13-180 keV band detecting 40+ high-energy sources.
