HEAsoft v6.11.1 - Known Issues
If you are using HEASOFT v6.11 and don't want to upgrade to v6.11.1 just yet, see the HEASOFT 6.11 Bug List.
Please visit the HEASOFT Supported Platforms page for current information about supported operating systems and compilers.
Several packages track issues separately from this page:
The following is a list of known issues in v6.11.1 of HEAsoft not covered by the above pages.

- xselect / extractor:
Source code distributions built using gfortran 4.6.x (which may be the default Fortran compiler on newer Linux operating systems, e.g. Fedora 15) may suffer problems resulting in empty GTI arrays when using xselect/extractor. A patch to the extractor source code resolves this problem and is available here.
To apply this update, first initialize HEASOFT and then unpack the patch file above on top of your existing heasoft-6.11.1 source code tree (i.e. one directory above the heasoft-6.11.1 directory itself), and thencd heasoft-6.11.1/ftools/heasarc/src/extractor/ hmake clean hmake hmake install
- ftlist:
The ftlist task may fail when the outfile parameter is longer than 80 characters. To fix it, save this updated copy of ftlist.c in heasoft-6.11.1/heatools/ftlist/, and then:cd heasoft-6.11.1/heatools/ftlist/ hmake clean hmake hmake install
- Swift / UVOT:
Update: As of ~0900h EST on 14 December 2011, this patch has been applied to all HEASoft v6.11.1 source code & pre-compiled binary downloads.
In HEASOFT 6.11.x, the UVOT tools uvotdetect and uvotflux were inadvertently changed to report AB magnitudes instead of Vega magnitudes. (The tools actually use the last magnitude system they find in CALDB). An updated Perl module which fixes this problem by explicitly setting the default magnitude system to Vega is available here: Calibration.pm
To apply this update, simply initialize HEASOFT and then copy the new Calibration.pm into the directory$HEADAS/lib/perl/UVOT/
