- New in Version 4.8/4.8a/4.8b/4.8c/4.8d/4.8e/4.8f (Released 2015 Aug 17/Dec 16/2016 Feb 29/Sep 9/Dec 21/2017 Aug 18/Dec 22)
- Version 4.8f contains an updated set of Chandra effective area
curves, suitable for use for Cycle 20 proposals.
- Version 4.8e contains a minor update of XMM-Newton EPIC effective
area curves, suitable for use for AO-17 proposals.
- Version 4.8d contains an updated set of Chandra effective area
curves, suitable for use for Cycle 19 proposals.
- Version 4.8c contains a minor update of XMM-Newton EPIC effective
area curves, suitable for use for AO-16 proposals.
- The former ASTRO-H mission is now recognized as Hitomi,
starting with Version 4.8b. The support for the IXO project has
been discontinued.
- Version 4.8a contains a minor update of Chandra effective area curves,
suitable for use for Cycle 18 proposals.
- The pile-up formulae for the XMM-Newton EPIC instruments have been revised
using the latest information from the instrument teams. This brings PIMMS
in line with tools used at the XMM SOC.
- Version 4.8 contains new XMM-Newton EPIC effective area curves suyitable
for AO-15 proposal preparation, although any differences with the previous
version is exteremely minor.
- Version 4.8 also contains new ASTRO-H HXI effective area curves.
