Getting Help in Xspec
There are multiple places to get help with using Xspec.
- The Xspec Manual [HTML] [PDF] is the best place to get details about running Xspec.
- The PyXspec manual [HTML] [PDF] gives specfic guidance for using Xspec's Python interface.
- Download the walkthrough files [74M] to follow along with the Walks Through Xspec section of the manual.
- The Release Notes provide details about updates in the latest Xspec version.
- The Issues & Patches page lists bugs which are patched in the latest update.
- The FAQ page offers troubleshooting and additional guidance for common questions.
- See PyXspec-specific troubleshooting for problems that Python users may encounter.
- Use HEASP [HTML] [PDF], a C/C++/Python library, to manipulate files associated with high energy astrophysics spectroscopic analysis, including table models.
- The Xspec Facebook group is a way to share questions and answers with others in the community.
- If help is still needed after exploring the above options, please submit a question via the feedback form (selecting Xspec from the drop down menu).
