SPEX model
Jeremy Sanders has provided a Python script which runs the SPEX program and extracts the spectra into files in the same format as APEC.
The script requires the Python v2.7 or 3.3+ and Astropy packages. The resulting files can be used in xspec by setting APECROOT then using the apec or vapec model.
Updated on Aug 1, 2018 to use Astropy and the latest version of SPEX.
